Hi. I was having problem starting my Dell 8400 so I want to do a Repair on it - boot to XP CD then choose Repair. During the Repair process, it say "Can
not copy the file catsrvut.dl_". I check the CD directory and \i386 folder and the file is there so why can't it be copied? These "can not copy
files..." go on for 20 or more files with the following extension - .dl_, .ex, .cn_, .in_. Now my my computer can't even start. Why these "can
not copy file..." show up when it's there on the CD?

The disc is clean (it's in a sleeve).

can't copy doesn't necesarly means it can't read...it can be as well that it can't write
you should try to boot on a rescue CD or a linux live distribution and copy the files from there not running windows it can unlock the blocked files that way... You should do a checkdisk as well to make sure it is not the HD that is going faulty slowly;) |
